NovoPath Inc, Princeton, NJ, has integrated its NovoPath anatomic pathology (AP) software platform with the IntelliSite digital pathology solution and whole-slide imaging system by Philips Digital Pathology Solutions, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The announcement follows a thorough process of development and testing to integrate AP workflows between the IntelliSite image management system and NovoPath’s AP laboratory information system (LIS) software.

“Using the NovoPath AP LIS together with Philips’ digital imaging solutions will provide lab managers and pathologists a top-of-the-line, integrated viewing and resulting solution of digitized slides,” says Rick Callahan, vice president of sales and marketing at NovoPath. “The integration seamlessly and elegantly combines the workflow of both systems to provide an efficient tool for viewing and capturing relevant information, improving turnaround time in the lab, and providing a more pleasant user experience.”

“The full efficiency gains of a digital workflow in pathology will only be obtained when information technology systems from vendors work together seamlessly to support pathologists in their daily tasks,” says Jasper Peeters, head of product management at Philips Digital Pathology Solutions. “Philips IntelliSite Pathology Solution’s flexible system design allows for bidirectional integration with leading LIS vendors, such as NovoPath, to provide our mutual customers with actionable information where and when they need it most.”
