Hardy Diagnostics, Santa Maria, Calif, has formed a partnership with NG Biotech, Guipry, France, to become the authorized US distributor of NG Biotech’s Carba 5 test, a rapid (15-minute) multiplex immunoassay for the detection and differentiation of the five most common carbapenemases (IMP, KPC, NDM, OXA-48-like, and VIM) from bacterial culture of Enterobacterales spp. and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
The easy-to-use test saves time by simplifying the process of testing for these resistance enzymes. It enhances sensitivity, decreases turnaround time, lowers the overall cost per test, and represents a significant process-efficiency improvement over molecular methods.
