THERAKOS CELLEX Photopheresis System
Enables single-operator management of the ECP process
The THERAKOS™ CELLEX™ Photopheresis System, from Therakos, Raritan, NJ, is a single, integrated, automated, closed system, allowing for single-operator management of the extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) process. The system offers the same reduced risk of infection, cross-contamination, and reinfusion errors as the previous-generation UVAR™ XTS™ system while reducing treatment times (1.5 hours compared to 3 hours), minimizing extracorporeal volume, and enabling optimal fluid management. In the United States, the system is indicated for the palliative treatment of the skin manifestations of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (a rare form of Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma) that are unresponsive to other forms of treatment.

ADH-5
Interprets five challenging breast diseases
The ADH-5â„¢ Multiplex IHC stain, from Biocare Medical, Concord, Calif, provides clear differentiation of atypical ductal hyperplasia from hyperplasia of the usual type, identifying microinvasion and invasive ductal carcinoma, and distinguishing basal phenotypes in triple negatives, by simultaneously testing for five key markers of breast disease in a single procedure. ADH-5 uses one simple staining procedure and can be completed in a standard four-step IHC staining protocol. It is composed of CK5, CK14, p63, CK7, and CK18.

Microm HM 550 Cryostat with Cold Disinfection
Produce frozen sections for oncological analysis
The Thermo Scientific Microm HM 550 cryostat with cold disinfection, from Thermo Fisher Scientific, Runcorn, UK, allows high-quality frozen sections for oncological analysis to be produced easily, rapidly, and safely. The cold disinfection system enables complete disinfection, even between samples during daily workflow. The system uses patented technology to fumigate the cold cryo-chamber while at frozen operating temperature. The fumigant is deadly to pathogens such as TB and HIV, but is completely safe to users. Cold disinfection works against aerobic bacteria and fungi in just 3 minutes, and the cryostat can be used immediately after the disinfection process is complete.
