GE announced yesterday that the company has terminated its agreement to acquire Abbott’s primary in vitro and point-of-care diagnostics businesses. Both companies announced on their Web sites that they were unable to reach agreement on final terms and conditions. Neither company gave reasons for the termination.
It remains to be seen whether GE will look to acquire another in vitro diagnostics business, or whether Abbott’s diagnostics will be acquired by another company.
