photo The most recent version of the Spife 2000 builds on the success of the Spife system for automated separation and staining of electrophoretic analytes.
Additional features include in-line sample application, a barcode and lockout feature for positive sample ID, multiple stain ports and a growing menu of analytes.
With its integrated sample applicator, this version applies up to 60 samples. The use of Mylar applicator tips can make for tight, crisp bands and prevent adherence of proteins to the applicator, which can cause erroneous results.
The barcode and lockout feature provide assurance of positive sample ID. Barcodes and gel are scanned from the sample tray. If there is not a match, the analyzer can lockout operation to prevent error.
