product The DM LMD Laser Microdissection System’s automated non-contact technique dissects select individual cells, groups of cells or even a single chromosome with accuracy.
Based off an upright, automated microscope, the system includes a motorized nosepiece, motorized stage and automated xyz-control. Its pulsed UV laser is directed through the optics, allowing the stage to remain stationary while cutting. This allows the laser beam cutting precision to increase in proportion to the objective magnification; greatest precision is attained at the highest magnification. Any shape or size can be dissected. Paraffin sections, frozen sections, blood smears and immunolabelled specimens can be microdissected.
Once the area of interest is cut, the sample falls directly into the microcentrifuge tube, no additional force or contact is necessary to recover dissected samples. By using gravity, samples are treated far more gently and without contact, reducing the chance for contamination.
