Siemens Medical Solutions has received antitrust approval, allowing it to finalize its acquisition of Gesellschaft fur Systemforschung und Dienstleistungen im Gesundheitswesen mbH (GSD), of Berlin.
The new company, Siemens Medical Solutions GSD GmbH, will be a separate legal entity operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of Siemens Medical Solutions.
GSD is a large health information systems company with more than 300 customers in 14 countries. Its acquisition expands Siemens’ global health care IT portfolio. Following the acquisitions of Diagnostic Products Corporation and Bayer Diagnostics, GSD is Siemens’ third acquisition in the past three quarters.
