In addition to the company’s standards in established genomic DNA format, Horizon’s OncoSpan line of reference standards now includes formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded and cell-free DNA formats for mimicking solid tumors and liquid biopsy samples. The cell-free DNA format offers one of the largest number of variants (more than 380) and genes (152) of any characterized reference standards to help standardize liquid biopsy testing.

“Horizon offers a line of premium reference standards for various molecular platforms, including next-generation sequencing and digital polymerase chain reaction,” says Paul Brooks, head of business operations for Horizon Discovery. “By extending our OncoSpan portfolio to include these additional sample formats, we are now able to provide more researchers working at the forefront of molecular diagnostics with the reagents needed to suit their specific workflows.”
