The PTC Harmony 96 and PTC Harmony Deepwell systems are designed to provide high-performance PCR for academic and biopharma laboratories.

Bio-Rad Laboratories announced the launch of the PTC Harmony Thermal Cycler line, designed to provide optimized workflows for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) applications including sequencing, cloning, and genotyping.

The new line includes the PTC Harmony 96 and PTC Harmony Deepwell, which are the latest additions to the company’s next generation of conventional PCR thermal cyclers. According to a company press release, these systems are designed for a range of budgets and offer the same thermal performance as the PTC Tempo line in a streamlined design.

Features and Workflow Integration

The PTC Harmony line features an intuitive user interface, manual lid operation, and flexible connectivity options to simplify protocol management. Bio-Rad says the systems are intended for scientists seeking faster PCR runs, higher performance, and accuracy in a simplified workflow.

The PTC Harmony 96 and PTC Harmony Deepwell systems expand the company’s existing portfolio of thermal cycler solutions, offering broader access to high-performance devices for various laboratory settings.

“Tailored to academic and biopharma customers interested in simplified and affordable, high-performance devices, the new line of PTC Harmony Thermal Cyclers delivers the same reliability and high quality that Bio-Rad has been providing for over 35 years,” says Stephen Kulisch, vice president of genomics product management, Bio-Rad, in a release.

Laboratory Efficiency

Bio-Rad says the development of the PTC Harmony line demonstrates an ongoing commitment to meeting the needs of scientists through robust and efficient molecular diagnostic tools. By leveraging engineering expertise, the company aims to provide devices that maintain high standards of quality while remaining accessible to a broader range of laboratory budgets.

The PTC Harmony Thermal Cyclers are now available for academic and biopharmaceutical customers looking to enhance their PCR-based research and testing capabilities.
