According to a story published by jdsupra.com, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services filed a proposed rule that would change regulations that govern the proficiency testing process as required by CLIA 1988. The change would come in the form of a narrower interpretation of the term “intentional” under the rule that penalizes laboratories “that intentionally refers a PT sample to another laboratory.”
